OVERVIEW

We got it, you are visiting (or planning to visit) Italy but you don’t want (or you can’t!) spend too much time in these places; to help you, let us introduce to you our fresh new one-day workshop!

With this option, you’ll be picked up at your hotel in the near-by area that morning and you’ll be dropped off at the same place after we finished to photograph the sunset; perfect, isn’t it?

workshop itinerary

Pick-Up: Approximately 45 minutes before sunrise (depending on where your hotel is located) one of our photographers will pick you up and then you will drive together to the first location of the day;

Sunrise session: you will shoot the blue hour and the sun rising up above the hills together with our expert photography guide there to help you getting the best possible shots. We will go through the very basic settings (ISO, aperture, exposure, etc) if needed – otherwise we might already cover some slightly more complex techniques such as the HDRs (very handy in strong light conditions).

Breakfast: after being awake for an already long time, time to get some good breakfast! We’ll stop in Pienza and get something at the local cafè.

Morning Shooting: after breakfast, it will be time to visit some more new locations. Normally, we would dedicate a golden hour session to these places but since we don’t have that time – we still try to capture them all even if the light won’t be the best!

Lunch: a deserved break after a long morning spent shooting! We will enjoy a lovely meal lost in the middle of the countryside, either with some pasta, some meat or vegetables.

Mid-Afternoon Shooting: after a relaxing lunch, it’s time to hit the road again. We will start driving around again and we’ll visit a bunch of new locations while waiting for the light to become warmer again!

Sunset Session: by the time that the sun will go down we will make sure to be ready and set in position to capture it, in one of the most incredible locations that the area has to offer.

Drop off: unfortunately, it’s already time to say goodbye! After a long day shooting the rolling hills, your photography guide will take you back to your hotel.

Post-Production Workshop (depending on the weather)

– Digital Camera (preferably a DSLR camera, both an APS-C and FF will be more than fine)
– An ultrawide lens (such as the Nikon 14-24mm, Canon 16-35mm, Tamron 15-30mm, Tokina 16-28mm etc); we recommend a lens with a wide maximum aperture (like f/2.8) for night photography.

– A standard zoom lens (like the various Nikon/Canon/Sigma 24-70mm or 24-105mm)

– A telephoto zoom lens (like the various Nikon/Canon/Tamron/Sigma 70-200mm)

– A super telephoto zoom lens (like the Sigma/Tamron 150-600mm); this lens is not necessary but we recommend it anyway since it allows to capture the far away details of the landscapes

– A sturdy tripod that permits to do some long exposure photos, specially during the twilight hour

– A set of ND filters; these are the only filters we feel to recommend, since they become useful when you need to stretch the exposure time a little bit during some difficult light conditions

– A camera remote to avoid blurry shots

A few weeks before your departure, we will contact you suggesting the best clothes to bring with you basing on the weather forecasts and the current temperatures, so that you will be perfectly equipped by the time of you arrival!
The price does NOT include:

– Airfare to/from Italy;

– Food (Breakfast/Lunch);

– Single Supplement (+180€)

– Public Transports Tickets (Ferries, Buses, Trains, etc);

– Attractions Tickets (Museums, Towers, Monuments, etc);
