My son (16 years old) and I just got back from our six-day Tuscany photo adventure with Leonardo. I've spent the last couple of days on Lightroom and Photoshop finishing up all of the post processing work. Seeing what got produced from the week of sunrises, sunsets and even nighttime photography via the moon, made me realize just how much we had learned and accomplished in a short period of time. Highlights:1) He's Local. Knows the area like the back of his hand. He knows where all of the iconic vistas are, but also has come 'off-the-beaten-path' places mapped out, as well.2) He's a Technial Expert. He knows his technical 'stuff' and meets you at your skill level. I've been an avid amateur photographer for years and got to expand my knowledge significantly especially using the Live View feature of my camera. Beyond his expert coaching on showing me how best to set manual settings, leverage the histogram, etc., he knows how this translates to post-processing tools like Lightroom and Photoshop. My son, however, is a novice who is first learning the basics. Leonardo was a wonderful coach for him, as well. Patient and interested all along the way.3) He's Knows Composition. He has a great eye for composition and was an outstanding coach in helping us get the best shot. He's style is, "okay, show me what you got." He would then offer suggestions on how to improve upon my ideas. It was a great approach.4) He Makes Smart Choices. He booked us into a lovely four-star boutique hotel in Pienza. It was a great central location for all of our photo shoots. He also made excellent choices for all of our lunches and dinners together. He looks for spots that have atmosphere, beautiful views, and authentic Tuscan cuisine. We truly had wonderful meals throughout our entire experience.5) He's Flexible. There are some days when the sun is just not going to cooperate. This never hindered the trip. Leonardo makes the best of what nature provides and adjusts accordingly.5) He's Good Company. He is a curious person and is interested in learning about other cultures and sharing his.All in all, a wonderful experience and I highly recommend.

I just got home from a six day photo tour with Leonardo Papera and cannot say enough good things about it! First, the photo experience was exceptional. Of course, you have the landscape and that Leonardo exploited to give me for a very solid photographic experience. He started where I am as a photographer and made my camera time focused, positive and fun. I left feeling I had grown. I also can't say enough about Tuscany. It was s first for me and I loved it all - countryside, towns, food and people. And Leonardo was so great at showing it off that I left almost having forgotten that I was a tourist! So, thanks and I would love to do it again!
